Many people come to me because their neck looks strong and the line to the shoulder looks angular, for example after years at a desk or in training. The treatment is also known as “Barbie‑Botox”®. With botulinum toxin I relax the upper part of the trapezius muscle. The aim is a softer line from the neck to the shoulders.

Why does the trapezius become so strong?
The upper part of the trapezius lifts the shoulders. If you sit at a screen a lot, pull your shoulders up or train with weights, you use it every day, and it becomes stronger.
What happens at the appointment?
First I look at your shoulders and neck and ask about your everyday life, for example about sport. We talk about what you would like, and I explain everything to you in person. If everything is right for you, I treat you straight away in the same appointment, with a fine needle at several points on both sides.
When does it take effect, and how long does it last?
After a few days you notice that the muscle relaxes. The first changes in contour can usually be seen after two to six weeks. The effect generally lasts four to six months, and often longer after repeated treatments.

Will this make my neck longer?
The length of your neck stays the same. But when the muscle is relaxed, the line between neck and shoulder can look longer.
Can I go straight back to work?
Yes, you can go straight back to work afterwards. The tiny needle marks are usually barely visible after just a few minutes. That is why an appointment before work or during your lunch break works well too.
What should I keep in mind after the treatment?
In the first 4 hours after treatment, please do not lie down. On the day of treatment, no make-up and no alcohol, and do not touch, rub or massage the injection sites.
