Many people come to me because fine vertical lines show above their upper lip, and their lipstick settles into them. With botulinum toxin I relax the muscle at the edge of the lip very gently, with a very small amount. The aim is smoother lines above the lip.

Where do upper lip lines come from?
Every time you drink through a straw, whistle or give someone a kiss, you purse your lips. The muscle around the mouth folds the skin above it, and over the years fine lines remain.
What happens at the appointment?
First I ask you to purse your lips, and I look at the skin above your upper lip. We talk about what you would like, and I explain everything to you in person. If everything is right for you, I treat you straight away in the same appointment, with a very fine needle. It only takes a few minutes.
When does it take effect, and how long does it last?
After a few days you notice that the lines form less strongly when you purse your lips. After 14 days the effect is complete. The effect usually lasts three to six months.

Is this the same as a Lip Flip?
Not quite. Both treatments involve the muscle around the mouth. Here it is about the fine lines above the lip, while a Lip Flip is about the edge of the upper lip.
Will I still look natural?
I treat this area only very finely. We decide together how strongly to treat, because this can be adjusted through the dose.
Can I go straight back to work?
Yes, you can go straight back to work afterwards. The tiny needle marks are usually barely visible after just a few minutes. That is why an appointment before work or during your lunch break works well too.
What should I keep in mind after the treatment?
In the first 4 hours after treatment, please do not lie down. On the day of treatment, no make-up and no alcohol, and do not touch, rub or massage the injection sites.
