Lip Flip. The edge of the upper lip.
Many people come to me because their upper lip rolls inwards when they smile and looks thin. With botulinum toxin I relax the muscle at the edge of the upper lip a little. This turns the lip slightly outwards, and more of the red of the lip shows. No filler is used. The aim is a fuller-looking upper lip when you smile.

Why does the upper lip look thin when I smile?
When you smile, the muscle around the mouth pulls the edge of the upper lip inwards. Part of the red of the lip disappears, even though the lip itself is full enough.
What happens at the appointment?
First I ask you to smile, and I watch how your upper lip moves. We talk about what you would like, and I explain everything to you in person. If everything is right for you, I treat you straight away in the same appointment, with a very fine needle at a few points above the edge of the lip. It only takes a few minutes.
When does it take effect, and how long does it last?
After a few days the lip turns slightly outwards. After 14 days the effect is complete. The effect usually lasts three to six months.

Is a Lip Flip the same as lip filler?
No. A Lip Flip relaxes a muscle. A filler adds volume to the lip.
Will I still look natural?
It is a small change at the edge of the lip. We decide together how strongly to treat, because this can be adjusted through the dose.
Can I go straight back to work?
Yes, you can go straight back to work afterwards. The tiny needle marks are usually barely visible after just a few minutes. That is why an appointment before work or during your lunch break works well too.
What should I keep in mind after the treatment?
In the first 4 hours after treatment, please do not lie down. On the day of treatment, no make-up and no alcohol, and do not touch, rub or massage the injection sites.
